Electronic Manufacturing Services, colloquially known as "board stuffing" or "contract manufacturing" is the subcontract specialty of assembling an OEM's (original equipment manufacturer) electronic product and the primary business model of STx. Typically the OEM is responsible for the design and requirements of the product; they then select a subcontractor to assembly it. This can include managing electronic component inventory, soldering the electronic components to the PCB (printed circuit board), making cable harnesses, putting the finished boards into a chassis (aka box build), creating all shipping cartons and documents, and sending the finished goods to the OEM's customer.
